Overview
Assign tags to users, shifts, and shift templates in any combination to ensure that shifts are matched to the correct users.

You can also assign tags on your Computer and iOS device.
Considerations
- You must have supervisor, manager or admin level access to assign a tag.
- Tags are not visible to employees.
- When a shift has tags assigned, an employee must be assigned all tags present in the shift to be eligible to take it.
Assign a Tag to an Existing Shift
- From the When I Work Scheduling app, tap Scheduler.
- Tap the shift you want to edit, then tap Pencil button on the upper right.
- Tap Add Tags.
- Select all relevant tags for the shift. Tap in the top-right corner of the screen to save the shift.
- Tap Save to save the shift when the confirmation prompt appears.
Assign a Tag to a New Shift
- From the When I Work Scheduling app, tap Scheduler.
- Tap , in the bottom-right corner.
- If you want to add a one-off OpenShift, tap Custom Shift.
- If you want to add an OpenShift you frequently schedule, tap one of your shift templates. If you haven’t added shift templates for shifts that regularly occur, create a shift template.
- Enter the other shift details. Then tap Add Tags.
- Select all relevant tags for the shift. Tap in the top-right corner of the screen to save the shift.
- When you’re finished setting up the shift, tap in the top-right corner of the screen to save the shift.
A confirmation prompt appears.- If you want to save the shift without making it visible to the user, tap Save.
- If you want to make the shift visible and notify the assigned user based on their alert preferences, tap Save & Publish.
